This single cask release from Isle of Raasayâs Na Sia series (Gaelic for âThe Sixâ and pronounced âneh shee-ahâ) offers a deep dive into one of the six styles of single malt produced by the distillery. While the peated ex-Bordeaux casks are typically used in a relatively small portion of the Hebridean blend, their powerful influence provides pronounced notes of oxidized, jammy red fruit and smokey confection.
Na Sia Single Cask Bottlings demonstrates our six unique Isle of Raasay Single Malt recipe casks. Stained red on the outside, these high quality Bordeaux red wine casks are delivered fresh to the island from the chĂąteaux of South West France. In the first few months of maturation, our spirit develops a pink hue in these casks, which turns into a deeper, darker red.
Bold flavours and fruity notes develop in the spirit â including dried fruits, sultana, grape, Christmas cake & bread pudding. Released every 2 years as peated and unpeated spirit.
