Pago de los Capellanes Joven Ribera del Duero 2024

Pago de los Capellanes Joven Ribera del Duero 2024

This fresh and vibrant style of wine is referred to as their "Joven" or "Roble". Made from 100% Tempranillo, it is naturally fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged in French oak for only 5 months and then bottled and released for enjoyment.

The firm, chalky tannins are moderated here by juicy dark berry fruit character. Rocky minerality adds a terrific counterpoint. In the mouth, the texture is full, elegant, long lasting and velvety.

The relatively new Pago de los Capellanes winery is located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero wine region in the high plateau Castilla y Leon province.  The names translates to ‘Land of the Chaplains’ because in the 14th century the land where the winery Is located was mostly owned by the church as the locals donated land to the church as a thank you for their religious services.  Their Joven or young 100% Tempranillo wine is medium bodied with ripe berry and cherry fruit with the nose delivering beautiful aromas of violets and licorice.  This is a robust, easy drinking and satisfying wine sure to please any crowd.
